Seriously y’all! It’s been crrrraaazzzy around here this holiday season! I feel like every year I have it in the bag, and yet every year Christmas sneaks up on me. You know all about how I am a DIY Christmas type of person, and even with heeding my own advice, I’m backlogged on my holiday goals. I’ve barely even remembered to move the Elf on the Shelf, let’s just say this year “Elfie” has been really tired and napping a lot.Continue Reading

When we were kids, we had a sailboat. It was my dad’s love, and we found ourselves on the boat every weekend. Whether it was to go out sailing, take a quick family vacation, or just spend time on the docks, we often found ourselves downtown at the yacht club. This was a long time ago, before downtown San Diego was the hip and swanky “Gaslamp Quarter” it is now.
I remember thinking that my life was so boring being stuck on a sailboat while all my friends were having slumber parties and hanging out at Claire’s at the mall. To my adolescent self, it felt like torture, my adult self wishes we still had that boat.Continue Reading
I am a total sucker for craft books, so when my blogger friend Amy Anderson (of Mod Podge Rocks!) published her book Washi Tape Crafts and asked if I wanted a copy to play with, I literally had no other choice but to say yes. I was so excited to get my hands on this book because I am a sucker for a roll of washi tape, and I probably have 50 or so unused rolls that I haven’t figured out what to do with yet. I think I will be making a lot of washi tape Christmas gifts this year thanks to Amy!Continue Reading
So you read our post about Disneyland at Halloween, and you saw that adorable handmade Tinkerbell costume that Abbey wore all night, and maybe you’re wondering where I got her shoes, and how I got them to be functional AND adorable. Well I’m going to tell you, because I love you! And this wouldn’t be much of a blog if I kept those DIY secrets to myself, right?Continue Reading
This Friday Abbey and I have an appointment at a local preschool to come check it out and take a tour. I am equal parts excited for her (and who are we kidding, me too!) and sad that my baby is growing up. The first day of school is a big deal and I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for it.Continue Reading
This post is brought to you by Tulip and Blueprint Social. The opinions are my own.
If you’ve been around with me long enough, you know that;
A. I DIY anything I don’t want to pay full price for and,
2. I love a bit of snark and humor.
So I wanted to create something that sort of embodied those things into one pretty cool thing – a Tie Dye Color Melt Workout Tank! That’s right – I work out (sometimes) and I like to look totally amazing and awesome when I do, because is there any other way to be?
I have bags and bags of baby clothes in my garage that I literally cannot part with. We get asked all the time if we’re done having kids, and the answer is mostly “Yes”, but I just can’t let go of all the baby clothes my daughter wore. I’ve let a lot of it go to friends and family with kids, but I’ve got a few favorites that I just emotionally part with.Continue Reading
Y’all know my sister had a baby 2 months ago – my sweet little moose of a nephew, Miles Robert. He’s just the cutest little thing ever. I love doing things for my first time mommy sister – every time we get together, I shower her with gifts! Lucky girl, huh? I love being able to share the presents I give her with you guys, because hopefully I can inspire you to make some easy DIY gifts for the mama’s in your life too! Today I am sharing this easy DIY Baby Brag Book I made using the MyPrintly software from HP. It’s a great tool for printing photos and projects and I am so inspired every time I use it! Bonus? IT’S FREE!Continue Reading
This year, Chinese New Year falls on February 19th. We don’t usually ever celebrate but because Abbey is getting into that school age, I want to do fun things with her, and share with her other cultures from around the world. This year is The Year of the Sheep, and we wanted to share with you some fun things we will be doing to incorporate Chinese New Year, and celebrating the wish of good fortune, into our daily lives. We’ve got some crafts, recipes and yummy snacks to share to make adding a bit of Chinese New Year flare fit easily into your daily life too! Trust me, they are easy and won’t take all day, but will give you a big impact for the kids!Continue Reading
I have been wanting to do this DIY Decorated Wine Glasses tutorial for a long time. It’s been on my editorial calendar for months, but it kept getting bumped, because I have been so insanely busy that I just didn’t have the time to devote to making it really awesome. Plus, my husband told me I couldn’t “Craft Up” our nice wine glasses… clearly I listen really well. So the other day, the girls and I got all kinds of crafty before their swim lessons and made these pretty drinking glasses. My husband has yet to notice.Continue Reading
