I always wonder how some bloggers find the time to make and remake recipes over and over before finally sharing them to their readers. Let me let you in on a little secret around here at Mommy Like Whoa, I ain’t got time for that. I never test recipes, I simply just don’t share the ones that don’t turn out. You can find a lot of those #fails on my Instagram page.Continue Reading
Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday ever. I love everything about it, from decorating my house, putting up the tree, walking through Christmas lights, making hot cocoa and especially Christmas baking. If it could be Christmas time for 2 months, I would be 100% OK with that. So while Abbey and I were out running errands today, we stopped by our local Hallmark Gold Crown store and picked up a few goodies!Continue Reading
Here’s a fun story for today… I once made this dip for a family BBQ. I brought it, and told no one what it was other than “Cookie Dough Dip” and served it with some graham crackers. At first my cousins were hesitant, but eventually they dived in and before long the bowl was clean. Everyone wanted the recipe and when I told them the “secret ingredient” they all were totally shocked. They couldn’t believe that cookie dough could be “healthy”.
A similar thing happened while I was preparing this to share with you all. My daughter was hanging around the kitchen, watching me make this dip. It looked a lot like cookie dough, it tasted a lot like cookie dough, but she was hesitant. I let her lick the spoon, and her eyes got wide and she grinned from ear to ear. I handed her an apple slice with a big scoop and she devoured it! She wanted her own bowl, she wanted to eat cookie dough for breakfast. Then I told her what was in it… Are you ready to find out too?Continue Reading

I have a crazy sweet tooth. Have I mentioned that before? Around here, if it’s got chocolate, in it, on it, or near it, it’s fair game. My husband isn’t much for sweets, but he can scarf down some chocolate like nobody’s business. Before he and I started dating, I used to have a food blog. A little old food blog that I didn’t know what I was doing with. All I knew was that I loved food, and I loved cooking, and I wanted to share it with the world (I guess the “world” just wasn’t ready for it!)
I have quite a few recipes over there that need to eventually make it over here, and I used to post a few as a Throwback Thursday post, but I haven’t in awhile. I know today is Wednesday, so this isn’t really a “Throwback Thursday” post. Let’s call it a “Wayback Wednesday” post, shall we? I have been meaning to make these for ages. They are my husband’s favorite cookie, and I just haven’t had the time to do it, but today is the day! Those tax refund checks are rolling in across the land, and it’s time to cash them out and head to the store for cookie making supplies with this nifty little phone I picked up the other day.Continue Reading
This recipe is one of my most asked for recipes. I’m constantly getting friends and family asking about those “little sandwich cookies you made, that one time”.
Since this post in March of 2009, I’ve made these numerous times, with much better success. My technique back then was a bit rusty, but to be fair, at the time French Macarons weren’t the “in thing” and I kind of had NO IDEA what I was doing!
Even though they look like tiny little rocks, they were delicious and everyone loved them! Plus, the recipe still holds strong. Martha knows what’s up.
