Up until we saw Star Wars : The Force Awakens, my daughter was deathly afraid of Chewbacca. I’m talking INSANELY afraid of a fictional character in a movie she had yet to see. She had only ever seen Chewbacca in pictures, or at Disneyland, so granted her fears were warranted if not a bit skewed. She begged me not to watch Star Wars, and even had a mini panic attack as we walked up to the movie theater as a family a month ago. She told me to cover her eyes if Chewbacca showed up on screen, and I promised I would. Then, as we settled down in our seats, with our popcorn and snacks, her little hand in a death grip with mine, the movie started.Continue Reading
You know what goes insanely well with chocolate? Red wine. I’ve found myself sipping a glass of red wine and gnawing on a hunk of dark chocolate on several occasions. I’ve even had Chocolate Syrup infused with red wine, drizzled over ice cream at a winery in Napa. That was a pretty amazing end to a wine tasting. I think about that red wine chocolate syrup a lot.Continue Reading
Here’s a fun story for today… I once made this dip for a family BBQ. I brought it, and told no one what it was other than “Cookie Dough Dip” and served it with some graham crackers. At first my cousins were hesitant, but eventually they dived in and before long the bowl was clean. Everyone wanted the recipe and when I told them the “secret ingredient” they all were totally shocked. They couldn’t believe that cookie dough could be “healthy”.
A similar thing happened while I was preparing this to share with you all. My daughter was hanging around the kitchen, watching me make this dip. It looked a lot like cookie dough, it tasted a lot like cookie dough, but she was hesitant. I let her lick the spoon, and her eyes got wide and she grinned from ear to ear. I handed her an apple slice with a big scoop and she devoured it! She wanted her own bowl, she wanted to eat cookie dough for breakfast. Then I told her what was in it… Are you ready to find out too?Continue Reading

I know it’s still summer, but back to school is closer than you think. I know a lot of us parents are counting down the days until we get our freedom and sanity back once the kids are back in school. For some of you it will the first time you’ve got a little one in school full time, and because that can be hard on both parents and kids, here’s a sweet little snack to keep them happy and thinking of you! I also added some adorable free printables so you can make these snacks extra special!Continue Reading
I participated in a In-Home Party Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Weight Watchers Sweet Baked Goods. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
I am addicted to sugar. There, I said it. I love sweets! Cakes, pies, brownies, ice cream, anything I can get my hands on. I love to live by the motto “Life is short, eat dessert first.”. There is ALWAYS room for dessert. Always. Sadly, it has come to my attention that maybe sweets aren’t the best thing for you and should be eaten in moderation (what’s “moderation”!?) and because of that fact I have to make better choices when it comes to indulgence. So when Weight Watchers Sweet Baked Goods asked me if I wanted to try their BRAND NEW Salted Caramel Brownie Bliss bites and have a tasting party to see if my friends could tell the difference, I was intrigued and said yes!Continue Reading

You know what? I love chocolate. I crave it all the time. Funny thing, there was a (very small) time in my life, when I didn’t care for chocolate AT ALL. Crazy right? I got off the bandwagon real quick. My stepdaughter doesn’t really like chocolate either, but she’s got an excuse because she’s only 8. The 2 year old? She could pound a pound of the stuff before you could blink. Odd…
Anyway, I decided that since I can’t give it up, I need to learn how to have it in a healthier way, something that is so rich and delectable that I could have one piece and be done for the week. How’s that sound?Continue Reading
As a kid I HATED Cadbury Creme Eggs. I couldn’t stand them! I have no idea when or why this changed, but as an adult, I can’t get enough of them. So good! Too fantastic to pass up, honestly. I love Easter, purely for the knowledge that Cadbury Creme Eggs are now available in stores.
But what happens after the holiday, and subsequent markdown of the Creme Egg, and then they are nowhere to be found (until the Scream Egg rears it’s ugly head in October). Why, you make Cadbury Creme Egg Brownies, of course!Continue Reading
