Can I just pause for a second and tell you that I can’t even pretend food is just for sustenance. Food is so much more to me and as much as I hate what the term has become, I totally identify as “a foodie”. Food is a journey, a destination, and an experience. I love the salty with the sweet, the hot with the cool and creamy, the indulgent and the simplistic. I love to try new things, and new pairings and expand my umami so to speak. I love coffee. I drink it on the regular. Cream, sugar, syrups, whatever your flavor, I have it. Being a blogger, the need for coffee is a necessity. Often times when I am pouring my creamer into my coffee, my kids ask what it is and if they can have a taste. I figured that giving them a cup of creamer was a bit beyond my limits of what I need my kids to have, but I did figure out a fun solution.
If you’ve read my blog for long enough, you know all about my Popsicle Maker and how much I love it. Seriously, best wedding gift ever! I had tried making Creamsicles before but the problem I kept facing was that the ice cream would never harden enough, even from a melted state. Every time I would take the Popsicles out of the molds the ice cream wouldn’t be strong enough to hold it and I would pull out sticks and leave my hard work behind. Super bummer. That’s when I got the idea to use creamer instead of ice cream. I have never looked back.Continue Reading
