It’s AVOCADO season here in California, which means the stores are stocked to the brim with fresh, ripe, creamy California Avocados for next to nothing. I mean, sure we have avocado year round, but now is the time when you can get them for like 50 cents each, which is pretty dang cheap and begs to answer the question “What are you going to make today?”. Usually my go to is guacamole, or a turkey sandwich piled high, but I wanted something a little more sinful for my avocado craving and so I went with with California Chili Fries!Continue Reading

Essential Oils are all the rage nowadays, and I will admit that I own quite a few oils, and use them in our daily life. We use them for a variety of things, scrubs, lip balms, cleansers and making our own blends to help with concentration and relaxing. I like being able to go the natural route when dealing and managing stress, so I was excited to be able to try the Mia Mariu Therapeutic Essential Oils blend in Relax. Cuz, mama needs quite a bit of help relaxing!Continue Reading
Some of my fondest memories with my dad were holiday breakfasts. He used to always do it up really fancy for us kids to make us feel really special. And as we guzzled down our meal, he would say “It does my heart good to see you kids eat.” It wasn’t, of course, until I had kids that I could truly understand his sentiment on the subject of watching your kids scarf down a healthy meal and enjoy themselves. One of my favorite things my dad used to make were waffles. I loved helping him make the batter, prep the waffle iron and watch the steam rise. These Fruity Pebble and Banana Belgian Waffles are of course a little over my father’s skill set, but I think he would have enjoyed watching his grand kids scarf them down.
I have been in between shampoo and conditioner for awhile now. I have been trying all sorts of products and hadn’t really gotten anything that I absolutely loved. It’s tough when you’ve got long hair that’s dry and color treated. The California sun does a lot to it, and because it’s so long, I often toss it up into a messy bun – which is bad and causes lots and lots of breakage. Add to the fact that I am a hairstylist, so I am constantly coloring my hair and changing it up. It takes a toll, for real. Read on for my Arvazallia Review!Continue Reading

Different Ways to Upcycle Your Easter Basket This Year
If you’re trying to do Easter on a budget this year, you’ll want to find as many ways as possible to make sure you aren’t buying anything extra or that isn’t reusable for future Easters or for different uses through the year. At the same time, you don’t want to scrimp on Easter, and you probably want your children to remember every Easter fondly, rather than as a time that Mom and Dad tried to save money.Continue Reading
Now that the weather is warming up, my skin is going bonkers. I’ve been trying to get my skin routine in order for Spring, finding things that work well for me. I am a total product junkie, you guys know that – so when InstaNatural asked me if I wanted to try their new Dead Sea Mud Mask, made with Dead Sea Salts, I was all about it.
My medicine cabinet, and the cupboard under my sink look like I could open my own beauty counter. It’s sorta sad, but mostly awesome. Anytime I can add to it, especially with products that actually work for me, I am all about that. Usually it’s a place where products I try go to die, but every so often I find something worth sharing and talking about.Continue Reading
