I am a sucker for easy to eat, on the go, snacks. It’s probably why my kids are such snackers. Monkey see, monkey do. But while their snacking tendencies lean toward more of the cheese flavored cracker variety, I try to find things that are a bit more wholesome and healthy and keep me out of the drive thru. Right now I am obsessed with these Perfectly Simple bar from ZonePerfect.Continue Reading
You know that saying “Trust your gut.”? That saying does not apply to me at all. After having my Gallbladder Surgery, trusting my gut means I am in deep, serious trouble; left alone to my guts devices, I would never get anything done. I’ve gotta make sure I’m within running distance from a bathroom at any given time. Some people look for the sweet parking spot right out front, I scan the room for the nearest restroom, just in case. TMI? You’re telling me.Continue Reading
Recently, I received a box of Pine Bros Softish Throat Drops to try and review for the blog. They seriously could not have come at a better time.
You see, the rest of the US is stuck under snow, but here in San Diego, it was 78 today, and dry, and windy, and gross.
This is not the “winter” I signed up for, people!
As a crafter I use A LOT of glue. Like, so so sooo much.
After awhile you start to have favorites, and realize that not all glues, are created equal. Sometimes certain projects require a certain type of glue, and not all substitutions will work.
Over the years, I have gathered my favorite glues, tried and tested and true. It’s sort of silly to me, to write a blog post about glue, but I get asked so often what type of glue I use for each project, that I figured I’d share with everyone.
A few months ago I was asked to participate in a Brand Challenge on Influenster for a Pond’s campaign. It involved a few social media tasks and I wasn’t sure if I had won or not, but just a couple weeks ago I received an email saying I had been a winner and would be getting some Pond’s Cleansing towels in the mail as a prize!
Let me say, that one of the bigger perks of being on social media and having a blog is all the fun stuff I get to do, and the free stuff I get to try. I mean, obviously I enjoy writing, and sharing with y’all. I’m not just in it for the free stuff, I promise…
But it’s nice.
I love my Kitchen Aid stand mixer like it was one of my own children. In fact, when I got mine, for my 25th birthday that’s kind of what it felt like.
I had never owned something so nice, so useful, so… beautiful. It was matte pink, the ones they sell for Breast Cancer Awareness, and it was heaven. I made endless, upon endless batches of cupcakes, muffins, and cakes. It was where my love for cooking and recipes and sharing the fruits of my labor came from.
I hate to brag, but while the rest of the country has been stuck under a frozen icy blanket of sleet and snow and hail and ice…
I went to the beach.
Sorry, I felt like this instance kind of deserved a bit of bragging. Nyah nyah nyah nyah! Childish? Yes, I admit it, but awesome? TOTALLY!
And our beach wasn’t frozen! Or covered in snow! A phenomenon that only exists in my mind and in the movies because I’ve never seen snow on a beach before! I live in San Diego! Our beaches have surfers and chicks laying out and tanning, and kids building sand castles, and bonfires and sometimes a homeless man or two. But not snow. Not ever.Continue Reading
