The other day I got a wild hair up my ass. I was doing some sort of mundane mom task, like emptying the dishwasher, or sweeping up crushed cheese crackers, and I realized I sort of missed blogging. I missed having an outlet to share my thoughts and ideas and recipes that are actually easy, family crowd pleasers and don’t require dishes that need to soak for 4 days. I missed snapping pictures of my DIY stuff during the process of it, so I could teach another person how to do it too, verses having to knock back praise from impressed moms later, because in all honesty, it was just a little paint on cardboard and ANYONE can follow the directions. I missed the camaraderie that comes with being “a blogger”, and the fun campaigns I got to be a part of, and if I’m being 100% honest, I missed the free stuff and the cash too.Continue Reading
The internet can be a very scary, or very rewarding place at 2am. Just ask my google search results after I watch True Crime documentaries. I hope no one is seriously searching those out, because I legit look like a serial killer in training.
Truth be told, I’ve always loved True Crime. Not just “loved”, but LOOOOVEDDD. It happened back when the internet was “new” and my dad got us AOL. You remember how you used to get those CD-Roms in the mail with 200 free hours of AOL? Hook, line and sinker. I was thrust into the world wide web at 14 years of age, the wide eyed wondering of a girl on the brink of life altering wanderlust, without leaving her parents modest home office.Continue Reading
This small space on the internet has been sitting quietly for almost 2 years. That’s a pretty long time in the blogging world and today I decided to remedy that. I saw my auto payment go through on my domain and thought, “I really should fire up the ol’ blog, I sure do have a lot to talk about recently.”
Boy, do I ever…Continue Reading
Up until we saw Star Wars : The Force Awakens, my daughter was deathly afraid of Chewbacca. I’m talking INSANELY afraid of a fictional character in a movie she had yet to see. She had only ever seen Chewbacca in pictures, or at Disneyland, so granted her fears were warranted if not a bit skewed. She begged me not to watch Star Wars, and even had a mini panic attack as we walked up to the movie theater as a family a month ago. She told me to cover her eyes if Chewbacca showed up on screen, and I promised I would. Then, as we settled down in our seats, with our popcorn and snacks, her little hand in a death grip with mine, the movie started.Continue Reading
Ahhh Motherhood. It’s something some of us are destined to do. Something ingrained in us, to have children and raise them good and right and just. It’s not for everyone, that’s for sure. As much as I LOVE being a mom, I do sometimes think about the good old single days before the puke and poop and temper tantrums of a “Threenager” entered my life. And as much as I wouldn’t change it for the world, I do miss the simplicity of sleeping in and not worrying about anyone or anything. So for new moms and those thinking about starting a family, here are 10 things you can’t do once you’re a mom. You’ve been warned.Continue Reading

I don’t do a lot of sewing tutorials on the blog because, frankly, I am not that fantastic of a seamstress, and there are far better people out there with blogs dedicated to the cause, than mine. I try to share stuff I do that is easy, simple, and doable. I am all about living my life smarter, not harder. But this sewing tutorial is really easy y’all. Like super simple, and perfect for any little girl in your life for the upcoming warm months. Here’s a secret about me, I don’t use patterns. If I can’t figure it out without a pattern, it’s too difficult for me. So this skirt is really simple! I promise!Continue Reading

So MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out tomorrow in theaters around the country, and being a huge MARVEL fan, our family is pretty excited about it. We’ve seen every movie at least once, own them all and often binge watch them on occasion. We decided to have a very low key, simple family dinner, grab some snacks and just enjoy some movies with my Super Hero Family. But this time was different… Continue Reading
Three and a half years ago, Abbey was born. Charlie and I became proud parents to a new 7 lb, 10 oz baby girl and our lives totally changed. I was one of those “I can do it!” moms, who rarely asked for help and thought I knew everything. Sound familiar?
I mean, come on! How hard is it to have a baby?Continue Reading
Laundry is the worst chore ever. It’s one of those “This will never be done, ever” types of chores. For me, it’s even worse than the dishes. I am a naturally creative and artistic person, which means I am really really bad at keeping house, and really really bad at staying on top of chores. We’re usually a “check the pile” family. Meaning if it’s not in your drawers, and it’s not in the dirty clothes, check the pile of revolving clean clothes, cuz it’s probably there. I don’t like living out of a revolving pile of clean clothes, but being a working and stay at home mom, with 2 girls, and a husband who goes through a lot of work clothes, it’s almost impossible to stay on top of it all.Continue Reading
Happy Easter Lovelies! I hope you are enjoying today with your families and friends and those you love! Today’s Current Obsession is something near and dear to my own heart today : EASTER CANDY!
It is widely known, throughout the land, that Easter Candy is the most superior of all holiday candies. And if you did not know, then now you do. Something about egg and bunny shaped candy just beats out tree shape and pumpkin shape any day. So while everyone is quietly enjoying their egg hunts this morning, and the lovely Church services, and those all glittered up for Easter, I will be sitting on my couch, with a basket in my lap, hoarding ALLLLL THE CANDIES!Continue Reading
