I’ve been a frantic hot mess all day today. Why? Because I’ve been waiting on a very important phone call that I’ve been anticipating for the past 6 weeks. I can’t even tell you how I felt when that phone rang at 4:30pm this afternoon. I jumped up and screamed “The phone is ringing! This could be the call!” and my husband looked at me like I was a maniac and said “Then answer it!!”. I looked down at the phone, and swiped right.Continue Reading
Oh laundy, the most dreaded chore of my life. If I was a millionaire, I would just buy new clothes all the time, or I guess I could just hire someone to do my laundry for me. I’d rather have a laundress than a housekeeper. I promised myself that this year I would stick to it, and have it all done and for a few months this year I was doing really well.
I mean like really well.
Like all the clothes washed, and put away before the next pile was tossed on top, well. Life goals.
But I am back to my old ways of hordes of laundry piling up on top of the day before’s pile. I’m a horrible housewife.Continue Reading
We’ve lived here for 5 years, and since it’s a rental, we’ve very rarely ever upgraded anything. I save all those brilliant ideas for my Pinterest board for when we finally break down and buy something. But through the years we have updated a few things out of necessity and aesthetic reasons.Continue Reading

When I became a mom of a potty trained toddler, I thought wipes would be a thing of the past. I envisioned shopping lists where “diapers” and “wipes” weren’t allowed to belong, and I thought of all the money we would save by eliminating those items. But, as many first time moms learn quickly, things never go as planned.Continue Reading

My mom has the ultimate party house. She’s got a big pool, Jacuzzi, huge outdoor grilling area, brand new deck and even a game room complete with jukebox and pinball machine, so it’s no surprise to anyone that whenever we are itching to BBQ, we all head over there. The only thing that I don’t really like about my moms house is the bathroom situation.Continue Reading
I love Huggies ® Wipes. For real. They have been the only wipes I’ve ever used for years and years – and even before I had kids, I bought them because they are super affordable and can do so much more than just wipe tiny rear ends. After I had Abbey, Huggies were ALWAYS in my diaper bag – the thick absorbent wipes were the only things that would clean up those insane diaper blow outs and HUGE messes tiny humans seem to make. Huggies ® Wipes are still a staple around here because: BECAUSE KIDS OUTGROW DIAPERS, NOT MESSES.Continue Reading
This post is sponsored by O-Cedar. Living in a small space gets very cluttered and very dirty, very fast. Any tiny bit of dirt, dust, or fuzz can make my entire floor look like it hasn’t been cleaned in years. I used to use a traditional mop, you know the sponge kind? Gross. It barely cleaned, more like just pushed the dirt around and hid it somewhere else for a few days. Then I switched to the “easy” kind – the spray and wipe kind with the disposable pads. Easy, yes – but it couldn’t clean up anything more than easy messes either. It made me miss my old traditional mop, but I needed a better solution – something easy, something that worked. I set out to find that combination and found the O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop & Bucket System. Continue Reading

I don’t do a lot of sewing tutorials on the blog because, frankly, I am not that fantastic of a seamstress, and there are far better people out there with blogs dedicated to the cause, than mine. I try to share stuff I do that is easy, simple, and doable. I am all about living my life smarter, not harder. But this sewing tutorial is really easy y’all. Like super simple, and perfect for any little girl in your life for the upcoming warm months. Here’s a secret about me, I don’t use patterns. If I can’t figure it out without a pattern, it’s too difficult for me. So this skirt is really simple! I promise!Continue Reading
