I’ve been a frantic hot mess all day today. Why? Because I’ve been waiting on a very important phone call that I’ve been anticipating for the past 6 weeks. I can’t even tell you how I felt when that phone rang at 4:30pm this afternoon. I jumped up and screamed “The phone is ringing! This could be the call!” and my husband looked at me like I was a maniac and said “Then answer it!!”. I looked down at the phone, and swiped right.Continue Reading
Seriously y’all! It’s been crrrraaazzzy around here this holiday season! I feel like every year I have it in the bag, and yet every year Christmas sneaks up on me. You know all about how I am a DIY Christmas type of person, and even with heeding my own advice, I’m backlogged on my holiday goals. I’ve barely even remembered to move the Elf on the Shelf, let’s just say this year “Elfie” has been really tired and napping a lot.Continue Reading
We’ve lived here for over 5 years and it’s embarrassingly sad how bare our walls still are. Neither of us had much wall art when we moved in, so our walls remained quite empty for a long time. Recently, I’ve been adding some homey touches to our walls to incorporate some color and life. I’ve done quite a bit DIY wall decor, but I’ve been looking for some really nice quality art pieces for awhile. Something we can keep for years and years, something timeless, but trendy, something that’s “us”. And I think I finally found it on Minted.com.
In honor of Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out coming out this week, I wanted to finally get around to sharing the Inside Out party we had for Abbey’s 4th birthday, this past September. I know, I know, it’s already November! But I’ve been so swamped with real life that sometimes my digital life sometimes gets forgotten about. Forgive me?Continue Reading
National Mom’s Night Out was May 7th – YES! It’s really a thing! Why didn’t you know about it sooner?! Even if you missed it this year, there is never a bad time to host your own little Mom’s Night Out Party! We, as moms, are often on the go, helping everyone else, doing so much for so many others that we forget to stop and enjoy ourselves, guilt free! That’s why creating a night to just hang out with the gals is so fun and so important!Continue Reading

We’ve got 2 bathrooms in our house. The one in the master bedroom, that no one sees, and the one that is “the girls” bathroom, in the hallway that everyone (including guests!) uses. Because it’s the main bathroom in the house and 2 kids under 10 use it daily, it gets messy really fast. There is hair everywhere, toothpaste in the sink, and wet towels and clothes on the floor – it’s a nightmare. Since Summer is coming up and we’re gonna be having some guests over soon, I decided to do a quick little “Bathroom Makeover” using just a few upcycled items around the house to make the bathroom look it’s best, with minimal effort!Continue Reading

This year, Chinese New Year falls on February 19th. We don’t usually ever celebrate but because Abbey is getting into that school age, I want to do fun things with her, and share with her other cultures from around the world. This year is The Year of the Sheep, and we wanted to share with you some fun things we will be doing to incorporate Chinese New Year, and celebrating the wish of good fortune, into our daily lives. We’ve got some crafts, recipes and yummy snacks to share to make adding a bit of Chinese New Year flare fit easily into your daily life too! Trust me, they are easy and won’t take all day, but will give you a big impact for the kids!Continue Reading

Last night, we finally had to turn on the heater. It’s cold! Officially! I know a lot of you are already under a blanket of snow, but not us here in Southern California. So when my tootsies were freezing and my husband got up to turn on the thermostat, I got really excited. It’s the start of winter in San Diego! Yay! Which means, lots of hot cocoa, snuggling and Marie Callender’s pot pies. You know, winter staples! Which got me thinking about New Years Eve, and how with little kids we tend to stay home and watch the ball drop on TV and I wanted to show you how to have a special little staycation of your own if you’re planning on staying in too.Continue Reading
