A long time ago, a friend gave me some old matted pictures of vintage ads. They had been on her wall and she was moving, so I gladly took them figured that I could use them in my decor somehow. They were packed away and when my husband and I moved in together 4 years ago, I found them again.
In a weird chain of events we decided to hang them up on a big blank wall in our dining area. My husband, being the not so handy guy around the house (he’s amazing with anything mechanic, but don’t ask him to hang a picture) decided to nail the matted pictures to the wall with drywall nails. (Talk about a bachelor eye for design. Ha!) From far away you couldn’t tell they were literally nailed to the wall, but up close it was quite obvious. He used a piece of string and a “good eye” to level them out and proclaimed that they were hung, which is exactly what I had asked of him. I meant more like, hung in frames in the future, not so much nailed to the wall right now, but he was right, and there they hung for 4 years until last week.Continue Reading
