Maybe you’ve heard me mention “Pizza Tuesday” on blogs or on social media before and you were wondering what it meant and when it came from. I mean, clearly you’ve heard of Taco Tuesday, but Pizza Tuesday!? That’s just ridiculous! Well I am here to tell you that Pizza Tuesday is the most amazing day of the week, and let me tell you why.Pizza Tuesday started way back before I was around, when my husband and his brother used to get pizzas, have some drinks, and play video games when Audrey was just a baby, over 10 years ago! It eventually went away, but we started it back up again last year.
The rules to Pizza Tuesday are simple;
- Eat Pizza
- Do What You Want
- Have Fun!
Sometimes we watch movies, sometimes we play games, sometimes we order fancy pizzas from down the street, or quick pizzas from the local chain, or sometimes we make them ourselves at home. Since our Tuesdays are SO CRAZY with work and preschool and dance class, having Pizza Tuesday takes the pressure out of having a “normal” formal dinner at home. We can grab a slice and graze and hang out and it’s just fun and easy.
Which makes me super happy because with all the running around I do on Tuesdays, knowing dinner is handled is a life saver.
Sometimes I forget it’s Tuesday and ask my husband “What do you want to do for dinner?“ and then he reminds me “It’s Pizza Tuesday!” and I breathe a sigh of relief.
Bottom line? I look forward to Tuesdays!
Depending on how busy we are determines the pizza for the evening. Last time we made Red Baron pizzas in the oven and made everyone happy with their own pizzas. My husband is a pepperoni guy, while us girls prefer cheese pizzas. Audrey likes the soft chewy Brick Oven variety, while Abbey and I like the crispier Original pizzas. My husband just wants pepperoni, so he’s not as picky. And Red Baron is so affordable that we can have a massive Pizza Tuesday evening without breaking the bank! Plus keeping a few frozen pizzas on hand is never a bad idea!
I can remember making Red Baron pizzas with my family as a kid. They were always a staple at sleepovers and birthday parties! Did you know they’ve been around since the 70’s?! And they are still one of our favorites!
