So maybe you’ve noticed, or maybe you haven’t, but I took a little holiday break from the blog at the end of the year. It was much needed as a lot of my time is spent here, and with my entire family home for almost 2 weeks straight, I needed to take it easy on the internet and spend some quality time with those who I love. It was equal parts refreshing and equal parts nerve racking, but I am back and refreshed and ready to take on 2016!
The holidays are without a doubt my busiest time of year not only here on the blog, but also at the salon and at home too. And even though I absolutely love the hustle and bustle and rush of the holiday season, I am very glad it’s over (well, almost… our tree should come down sometime today…).
I just renewed my domain, and am happy to say that I’ve now been around for 2 years, and I think I am doing a pretty decent job in this blogger world.
I finally got my camera upgrade! A brand new Canon Rebel T5i from my husband for Christmas, so I am excited to see the quality of my photos be elevated in 2016! I also got a new Manfrotto tripod, so I will be diving into the vlogging world this year as well. Hello YouTube! It’s going to take some courage for me to get in front of the camera and talk, so bare with me!
I also want to get back to my roots a bit and share a lot more beauty, crafty things and tutorials. I got some cash for Christmas gifts and I headed out to Hobby Lobby and Sephora – so expect some Haul and Favorite posts coming up, as well as some fun and simple DIY!
I guess I am just excited for what 2016 has in store for us. My “One Little Word” for last year was “Flourish“, and flourish I did… but I felt like I lost myself a bit in all the flourishing, so my word for this year is “Focus“.
It reminds me to pay attention what’s important to me, and this year is the year of working on myself, my home, my family and my blog.
- I want to FOCUS on our diet with new foods, new recipes, and new menus.
- I want to FOCUS on our home, by organizing and removing the clutter. Out with the old and in with the new!
- I want to FOCUS on our finances to save and buy a house.
- I want to FOCUS on my family with family outings
- I want to FOCUS on my husband with date nights.
- I want to FOCUS on the blog, organize what’s important to me and create a better, more creative space for you to visit.
What is your word for 2016?
