I always wonder how some bloggers find the time to make and remake recipes over and over before finally sharing them to their readers. Let me let you in on a little secret around here at Mommy Like Whoa, I ain’t got time for that. I never test recipes, I simply just don’t share the ones that don’t turn out. You can find a lot of those #fails on my Instagram page.
Another secret? I’m not much of a baker. Sure, I can follow a recipe and I’ve shared a few tried and true ones here, but most of them don’t require a lot of baking knowledge. I try to keep things simple around here, I don’t want anyone to try one of my recipes and have a fail of their own.
One of my best keep secrets is that I like to use mixes. Seems like blasphemy on a blog, but let me tell you, I get some of the best results using a cake or cookie mix as my base.
Like these beauties. Cranberry White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies!
Look good right? We used Betty Crocker Cranberry White Chip cookie mix that Abbey and I grabbed at Albertson’s (It’s limited edition for the holidays, so grab some quick! – But you could also use Sugar cookie mix in a pinch.) and to that, we added more white chocolate chips, dried cranberries and macadamia nuts.
So simple right? I don’t even need to share the “recipe”!
Then with all these cookies, I decided to take a page out of my daughters playbook and pay it forward to the neighbors.
