We’ve lived here for over 5 years and it’s embarrassingly sad how bare our walls still are. Neither of us had much wall art when we moved in, so our walls remained quite empty for a long time. Recently, I’ve been adding some homey touches to our walls to incorporate some color and life. I’ve done quite a bit DIY wall decor, but I’ve been looking for some really nice quality art pieces for awhile. Something we can keep for years and years, something timeless, but trendy, something that’s “us”. And I think I finally found it on Minted.com.
I probably sat on that website for an hour, looking at all the amazing pieces of art. They are all made by independent artists, so you know you’re getting something made with love that you can’t find at a big store – and I seriously live for unique pieces like that.
Being a born and raised Californian, (I briefly left in 2006, but let’s not talk about that horrific ordeal…) I wanted a piece that represented my pride for my state. My husband is born and raised too, so I love that we share that in common.
This is our little holiday display since we don’t have a fireplace mantle. I thought the print would look good on this wall.
I’m sort of obsessed with bottle brush trees right now. I only expect that collection to grow from now until Christmas.
I think one of my favorite options with ordering on Minted, were all the options you have to customize your print. I decided to get it framed and I chose the reclaimed barn wood. I love that vintagey, country vibe, and being out in the sticks, this barn frame really matches our houses eclectic vibe. (That’s a nice way of saying nothing matches and that’s why it matches.)
I would have definitely loved this as a Christmas gift, and I think it would make an excellent gift for anyone on your list.
