Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday ever. I love everything about it, from decorating my house, putting up the tree, walking through Christmas lights, making hot cocoa and especially Christmas baking. If it could be Christmas time for 2 months, I would be 100% OK with that. So while Abbey and I were out running errands today, we stopped by our local Hallmark Gold Crown store and picked up a few goodies!
One of my fondest memories of Christmas as a child was making cookies with my mom and sister. As soon as Christmas break hit, my mom would turn the kitchen into a holiday baking, Christmas cookie wonderland. We would make rum balls, pecan puffs, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter balls, English toffee and of course sugar cookies to decorate. As kids, I’m sure our cookies weren’t much to look at, but as we got older, we got more into making them as nice as possible.
I wanted to start the same cookie tradition with my daughter, so when I saw this adorable Minnie Mouse Baking Kit at Hallmark, and this Keepsake ornament, I snatched them both up and ran to the store to grab everything we needed to turn our afternoon into a memory.
Every year I add at least one ornament to our every growing collection on our tree and I think this one will make a perfect addition! They seriously have some cute stuff this year.
While my daughter was busy making
messes memories, I snapped some photos.
I can’t get over this ornament. It’s probably my new favorite.
She loved the little baking kit, and we decided to use the treat bags and tags inside to make the neighbors little holiday gifts. Then we walked over and hand delivered them! Like we need more sweets in this house!
I also grabbed an aborable “JOY” sign that lights up that I am sure you’re going to be seeing soon enough, but if you can’t wait you can sneak peek it here.
Here’s a little behind the scenes video of Abbey and I decorating Christmas cookies and listening to Christmas music!
How do you get into the Holiday spirit?
