After sharing about the Talk Read Sing Campaign and our little Apple Picking Trip earlier in the week, I feel like this week is all about Abbey! I hope you don’t mind seeing her cute little face pop up on your feed, because I can’t get enough of it!
So we’re smack dab in the midst of fall (unless you ask Southern California, because we can’t seem to be able to let go of summer…) and regardless of the weather, we have been dressing the part for fall. It’s boot season! It’s time to wear leggings and dress in layers.
I don’t think there is anything cuter than a kid with a killer fashion sense. And it’s easy to achieve (and affordable!), I promise! All you need are some classic staples that never go out of style, and a few on trend statement pieces for the season.
Buying your classic staples at local department stores on sale, or grabbing them in a size up at the end of the season, on clearance for next year are great ways to save money on the pieces kids are going to be wearing all the time. Jeans, basic skirts, plain shirts, and solid color leggings are all great examples of classic staples. Anything you can mix and match with the trendier pieces for the season.
Splurge a bit more on a few on trend pieces to keep your kids in style, and I always grab a size up so they can wear it that much longer. I have no problem rolling a sleeve, or cuffing a pant leg if it means my pricier items will get more wear in the long run.
Today’s post is sponsored by the amazingly adorable Joah Love, who sent us some fun pieces to wear and love and style. My daughter’s style is very laid back, and she loves wear pieces that you wouldn’t think would go together. She’s a big fan of motorcycle jackets and chunky boots with dresses. She will pick comfort over function every day. She loves glitter and polka dots.
Abbey loves these leggings and I do too. She insisted on wearing them with this glittery polka dot zip side sweater, even though it was 80 degrees that day. I love her choice to pair this seasons hip tribal prints with polka dots and glitter, though I wish she would have let me put her in a strappy sandal or a cute boot.
I seriously love this little shirt so much! Arrows are so popular, and this lightweight shirt is such a great trendy addition to our closet. And I love how we paired the tribal trend with the feminine touches on the embroidered jeans.
This dress is to die for. I love love love the watercolor/paint splash effect, which is so popular right now. This is a perfect piece to dress up, or dress down, depending on the accessories added. Abbey loves this dress because it’s super soft and super girly, without being overboard. What did I tell you about that little moto jacket? So cute!
The quality of these pieces is just fabulous. The softness of the cotton and brightness of the colors, is just pure love. O don’t often splurge on my kids, since they grow right out of their clothes so fast, but these are fantastic clothes to hand down to younger siblings and cousins. Seriously guys, the quality is fantastic!
All other clothes and shoes in this post are from Target.
