So I don’t know if you knew it or not but today, September 9th, is National Teddy Bear Day! In fact the entire month of September is designated towards teddy bears, so we can go ahead and rename it SeptemBEAR. Having an almost 4 year old, I am very knowledgeable about the importance of stuffed animals in our home. In fact, very few things in life are as perfect and comforting as a soft, cuddly teddy bear.
We own an insane amount of stuffed creatures. Anything from famous characters, to things won at carnival games. If they make it, you can be sure we have it. I am not ashamed of the amount of stuffed beings in our home, and so I was very welcoming when a large box of Snuggle Bears showed up on our doorstep a couple weeks ago.
Try telling your child she can’t keep one and see what happens. Accidentally let your childhood nostalgic husband see that we have a box of actual real official Snuggle Bears, the exact kind he’s wanted since he was a kid, and see what else happens.
We were left with one insanely soft, perfectly snuggly bear, and I knew just who to gift it to.
You see, Abbey has what she calls, “A BFF”.
“Do you know what BFF means, mom?” she asks me one morning while getting ready for school.
I oblige her.
“It means Best Friend FOREVER. My BFF is Lainie.”
Lainie has a new baby brother, and as much work as it is to include the siblings into the new routine of a baby, the cooing and ooing and awwing… sometimes we just feel a little left out. And that’s where Snuggle came in.
Like I said before, very few things in life can compete with the comforting love of a teddy bear. So Abbey gifted her very own BFF with her last Snuggle Bear.
Lainie is a big shy, but I’ve asked her about Snuggle since that day, and she assures me that Snuggle is well loved and taken care of.
My husband on the other hand keeps his Snuggle Bear locked away from sticky, dirty kid fingers. Snuggle safely lives right next to his side of the bed on his side table. I’ve even caught my husband cuddling with Snuggle on the couch. He proudly proclaims that it is HIS Snuggle Bear and it is not to be touched by anyone but him…
…but I sometimes sneak in a cuddle or two myself.
You can get in on the action too (and it’s SUPER SIMPLE). Just snap a photo of you or your kids with their favorite teddy bear along with the hashtag #ShareABear.
Snuggle has 5,000 bears to give away to children in need and wants to reach that goal with our help!
You’d be surprised how something as small as gifting a teddy bear to a child can brighten their day! Let’s make the world a softer place.
