We’re going to Disneyland tomorrow! Ahhh! I can hardly contain my excitement for this. I haven’t been to Disneyland in probably 8 years, and I cannot wait! This will be our first “family trip” too! Abbey’s about to be 4, so we figured it was time to take the plunge. We had talks about doing it last year, but we decided to wait another year to be sure she’d really enjoy it and that we could get our money’s worth out of the deal.
I am pushing to grab some SoCal Season Passes, but my husband is hesitant about the purchase, so I’ll have to practice my puppy dog eyes for tomorrow. I totally see the value in grabbing passes for the year because it creates the ability for us to take quick trips up to Anaheim and do little family outings, affordably. Plus, I have quite a few friends with passes and, HELLO! It’s DISNEYLAND!
I have been wanting to share more Disney Inspired stuff on the blog lately, and I think this upcoming trip is just what I need to give me that creative push!
The best part about tomorrows trip? The kids have NO IDEA. We’ve been hinting about doing “a really super fun day” for the past month, and they keep guessing things, but we won’t give in. They have even guessed Disneyland a few times, but we threw them off them the scent by telling them that “Whoa! Disneyland?! What are we made of? Money?!” heh heh…
I have convinced them that daddy has a special day planned and we’re going ice skating and playing mini golf and going out to dinner and they were so happy! I hope they aren’t disappointed when we land at the Happiest Place on Earth and there is no ice skating!
I am slightly bummed that a few big rides will be closed because they are being all dolled up for Halloween, but if I can get my hands on some passes, I’ll definitely be back in October to show all you Disneyland Virgins how Disney Does Halloween.
I stopped into the Disney Store the other day and grabbed all of us some Disney shirts, and an autograph book for Abbey. My hubby will be decked out in an IronMan tee, it’s as close to a Disney shirt I could get him to wear. I’m torn between my new Sadness shirt from Inside Out and my Mickey ribcage shirt, complete with a glitter Mickey head as a heart.
I can’t wait!
I ordered some pins and lanyards for Disney Pin Trading, but Amazon dropped the ball and my 2 day shipping turned into 5 day shipping… Not Happy. But it won’t be a huge deal if we spring for passes. We’ll just search for Hidden Mickey’s instead!
We’re getting up early in the moring (ack! 5am!) to leave early, grab breakfast and be in the park just after it opens. I’ve downloaded the Disneyland app, so we can check wait times, character appearances and find a bathroom with kids who wait til the last minute. I’m excited for a Dole Whip Float and some Mickey shaped treats. We even have a bag packed with drinks and snacks, to keep the kids at bay during long wait times.
So wish us luck, follow all our adventures on Social Media and live tweet with me as we enjoy the Diamond Celebration at Disneyland!
