Last Friday we went to LEGOLAND California for the first time! You can read all about that trip and see all our photos here. It was so fun – the kids had an absolute BLAST! Abbey was so excited and had been talking about the BRAND NEW LEGO Friends Heartlake City area. Abbey is a HUGE LEGO Friends fan and her little eyes lit up when we got there! It’s so rewarding to see pure joy just pour out of your child! It makes everything you do for them so worth it!
So the entire time we were wandering around LEGOLAND California, riding rides and checkout out all the cool builds, Abbey was pestering me to head over to Heartlake City. We were with her cousins so I didn’t want to totally alienate them there, but they ended up really enjoying it as well!
She was so happy to see all the LEGO Friends all around Heartlake City and insisted we take a photo with each of them! This is Mia.
We rode LEGO horses in Mia’s Riding Camp – an adorable carousel that Abbey just loved!
Then we watched the LEGO Friends perform at the Friends Forever Stage and Abbey danced and sang all the songs with them. She even got a hug from THE REAL Stephanie!
Then we grabbed a Nutella and Banana crepe at the City Park Creperie!I mean, who can pass up a fresh crepe?! It was delicious, thanks for asking.
After the crepes Abbey splashed around in the Heartlake City Fountain! It’s a good thing I packed her bathing suit, because she dove right in!
We couldn’t leave Heartlake City without a trip to the Heartlake City Boutique and grabbing a LEGO Friends Set. We got the Summer Caravan and built it as soon as we got home!
If you go, make sure you stop by THE LEGO MOVIE Experience and check out the actual set from THE LEGO MOVIE!
President Business, Emmett, Wyldstyle and UniKitty!
We even met the real Emmett (No, not Chris Pratt… I was disappointed too.)
So, yes. Heartlake City is just wonderful, and it makes me happy that LEGO has “girl” stuff – not that that stopped me in the 80s & 90s… but it gets my girls foot in the door with LEGO and from there it’s all down hill. I love all the colors that LEGO Friends has, and I love the creativity it gives my kids (and me too!) to build to our hearts content.
