It’s only been a few days since the official start of summer, but I already feel like it’s been in full swing for months. That’s one of the down sides of living in Southern California, I feel like summer is literally endless. Sure we get a break for like 2 months for “winter” but it’s not enough. So, since it’s another year come and gone, I had to bop into Target real quick and grab us a few of our summer essentials. I know how much you guys love peeking into our shopping bags to see what we’re grabbing, so here you go, my Summer on the Run Target Haul!
Like I said, summer year round! We always have sunscreen in our house, it’s an absolute must when it comes to living in San Diego. We grabbed some BARE Republic SPF 30 by Coola for our faces and bodies to keep us protected all summer! I love that it’s mineral sunscreen in a spray can – I love the ease and convenience of the sprays. I had to grab the face too because I think faces are the most often forgotten places to put sunscreen and it’s so important for premature aging and slowing the wrinkle process to take care of your face and protect it from the sun!
2. Kimono for Mama
I am addicted to flowy, pretty, summery tops I can toss over a tank and leggings to make me look like I put more effort into my outfit than I did. Add a funky necklace and BAM! Instant Fashionista. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the options they have at Target. Kimonos are not only super cute and on trend for summer, but they keep your skin out of the sun and are so lightweight; they don’t add much fabric so they keep you cool! I loved the boho vibe with the tribal chevron print and swingy fringe on this piece from Mossimo.
3. New Bathing Suit for Abbey
This kid grows like a weed and all the cute suits I got her last year BARELY fit her, so a new suit for her was top on our list of summer must haves. I grabbed this cute Circo bikini because, ADORABLE! And I love the colors -I’m a sucker for pinky corals and minty greens. Plus the cute ruffle and fun scale detail on those bottoms is straight outta Merfolk territory.
4. Snacks that don’t melt
If you’ve got kids, then you know kid’s favorite foods are “snacks!”. Come actual mealtime they refuse to eat, but I bet if I fed them a plate of snack foods, they would be all over it. I loved these pink princess Goldfish exclusive to Target! So stinking cute. I can keep them in the summer bag and not worry about them melting in the car, since the bag lives in there from June-September.
5. Travel deodorant
I mentioned above that it gets hot around here, so having a small deodorant I can keep in my purse on the go is a MUST HAVE if I know we’ll be swimming and running around town. The last thing I need is to run into someone I know smelling like a stinky, sweaty, swampy pool rat.
6. Kid Sunglasses
My kid can lose anything 15 minutes after she begs and cries for it. I know I’ve bought at least 10 pairs of kid sunglasses in her short 3.5 year lifespan. These adorable Disney Princess glasses were an easy and obvious choice though. I am such a sucker for cute stuff.
