If you didn’t know already, I love pie. I really do. I tell people I love cake, but if it were between cake and pie, I think pie might win. It always cracked me up on Supernatural, how much Dean Winchester loved pie. He’s a man after my own heart. So obviously when the Collin Street Bakery in Texas asked me to give them my honest opinion on one of their World Famous Pies, the answer was a resounding YES!I love to make pie, and I love to eat pie. I have been known to drive over an hour for a fresh hot slice of pie. I have been known to randomly bring pies to parties and events, because I believe what this world really needs is more pie. Do you understand my love for pie yet?
Collin Street Bakery sent me a pie and it was quickly delivered right to my front door in an adorable collector’s tin. I knew keeping the entire pie here at my house was dangerous, so I brought it with me when I went to my nephew’s birthday party. I am not a huge fan of kid’s birthday cake, so I offered up Deep Dish Pie as a more adult friendly alternative.
It was a huge hit, as expected. It was rich, sweet, ooey, gooey, sticky and delicious. I wouldn’t say that Pecan Pie is my favorite kind of pie, but this pie made me rethink that lifelong decision. (Apple still wins, but this was pretty amazing.)
“Generous helpings of tender pecans, hand-picked from Texas native pecan groves, give this pie a distinctively mellow taste. Its caramel-flavored custard filling is made from whole, farm-fresh eggs. A light, flaky, buttery crust rounds out this deep-dish pecan pie classic.”
The Collin Street Bakery also has tons of other options, from their famous fruit cakes to cheesecakes, cakes, pies and cookies! Pretty much anything delicious you might need to send as a gift, or order for a party or holiday. If you want to give Collin Street Bakery a try, visit their website and peruse their selections!
