So MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out tomorrow in theaters around the country, and being a huge MARVEL fan, our family is pretty excited about it. We’ve seen every movie at least once, own them all and often binge watch them on occasion. We decided to have a very low key, simple family dinner, grab some snacks and just enjoy some movies with my Super Hero Family. But this time was different…
It was your typical normal Wednesday. I headed out to pick up Audrey from school and stopped by Walmart on the way home to grab stuff for dinner. Something was strange. There were MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron stuff everywhere! We tried to ignore it, but it’s power pulled us in.The girls dove for chips, crackers, drinks and MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron toys. I was helpless in their powerful gazes. We loaded up the cart, and headed for the front of the store. We were about to get our party on!
When we got home, I started on dinner. I had everything set up for a fun and easy family dinner of watching super hero movies- hot dogs, mac & cheese, MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron Doritos, Cheez-its and even Dr. Pepper for us grown ups.
Something came over Audrey! She started flexing and growling, her eyes were glowing red!
Abbey started in on it too! She was almost possessed! Grunting and raging, she looked crazy!
Dinner just sat there… looking delicious and worried. Plus I was getting hangry.
Abbey transformed and leaped out of her chair! She was smashing and going crazy! We didn’t know what to do! Who do you call when your toddler turns into a green hulking monster!? And then…
Audrey jumped up and took over!
I saw a side to my sweet little baby I had never seen before… and she liked it!
Hey! Girls can dig on Avengers too!
Audrey challenged Abbey to a fight! Dust was flying everywhere (I really need to dust more…), knick knacks were thrown from the shelves! Things got really intense!
Everything was calm. Hunger took over and the girls calmed down.
The Hulk was defeated! Everyone came back to dinner and suddenly acted like nothing had happened. In fact, if it wasn’t for this first hand, eye witness account, it would still be a mystery!
OK OK OK – so maybe that didn’t really happen. But we had fun pretending and role playing like it did anyway.
If the Blevins Family were The Avengers, Abbey would definitely be The Hulk. She’s tough as nails, breaks pretty much everything she touches and has bouts of anger something fierce.
My husband, as much as he would want to be Ironman, would be more like Captain America. He’s got military experience and he’s a bit of a pretty boy – don’t tell him I said that. He likes gadgets and stuff, but he’s definitely no Tony Stark in that department.
Audrey would probably be Thor. She’s not with us all the time, and sometimes it seems like she lives in 2 different worlds. Also they have the same haircut and she likes to fight with her crazy sibling.
I think maybe I would be Ironman. I’m the center of our little group, I make all the big decisions facing what we do and where we go – and I have some pretty cool connections and lots of fun tech stuff. Also in the right light, I have a glorious bit of facial hair. Either him or Black Widow – cuz her eyebrows are on point.
We settled down for an easy night in with all of our sweet Avengers loot.
So, since the movie is out tomorrow – first of all, who is going!? – and secondly, when you swing by Walmart to grab all these fun snacks for your Super Hero Family, make sure you download the Super Heroes Assemble app – available in the iTunes and Google Play – for fun augmented reality games, special behind the scenes content, and other cool features! Scan the Walmart displays to become your favorite Avenger! Kids will get a kick out of it while you shop in peace! Starting tomorrow scan any 12 packs of Dr. Peppers Avengers or scan the in-store signage to unlock a digital comic book!
What are you going to do to celebrate the new MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron movie? Which Avenger is your favorite?
