I first heard about Gerard Cosmetics from Jaclyn Hill. She’s this faboo YouTube Makeup Guru, and if you’ve never heard of her, check her out. She’s super cool, really nice (and goofy like me!) and she’s got insane taste in all things pretty. So naturally she’s my beauty spirit animal and I trust her advice explicitly. She’s got a line with Gerard Cosmetics and has made some beautiful colors, and I’ve wanted to get some for awhile. While this “haul” isn’t huge, it’s a pretty decent bit of lippy love, so I wanted to share it will all you lovelies!
I have never really been a lipstick sort of girl. I love lip balm. and lip gloss and lip stain, but never a fan of lipsticks until recently. I don’t know if I’m just getting older, so I’m just getting more obsessed with makeup, but I’m really super into colorful lips right now. That might be a Current Obsession soon…
I grabbed 2 lipsticks and 2 lip glosses; 1995, Kimchi Doll, Rose Hill and Buttercream.
1995 is a reddish brown color – it reminds me a lot of, well 1995. I swear I owned this color in some sort of Wet’n’Wild shade back IN 1995. I was 14. Don’t make me dig out any photos, but I know they exist! The formula is creamy, but matte, not a lot of shine at all, but it’s not super dry.
It was created by Jaclyn for Gerard Cosmetics and it’s a perfect match for that color Kylie Jenner was wearing about a month ago that everyone was freaking out about. The 90’s are coming back y’all… and you need this color.
Kimchi Doll is a perfect, pretty, pinky nude. I really love this color, because it’s like I’m not wearing lipstick. It’s just pretty. If you’re looking for a nice nude color, try this one.
It’s almost literally the same color as my skin! See?! NUDE! I am pretty pale, so this really nice a nice light pink nude for us fair skinned folks. It was created for Gerard Cosmetics by Sophia Chang. I just love it! The other thing about these lipsticks, they smell delicious! Like creamy vanilla… heaven.
So now for these glosses… first a bit about the packaging. It’s got a mirror on the side, and a light when you open it, so you can literally apply this ANYWHERE, without worrying about it. Up in da club, at the store, at the movies, at dinner, whatever.
Both of these were created by Jaclyn Hill, the red one is called Rose Hill, and is a beautiful rose colored gloss. Highly pigmented, it’s smooth and creamy and is perfect for spring, adding a pretty warmth on top of any shade.
The pink one is Buttercream, is a creamy pink nude and looks beautiful over both 1995 and Kimchi Doll. It’s GORGEOUS guys, so so so gorgeous.
Here are the swatches on my arms, with flash/without flash, so you can see what it looks like on some pale white girl arms.

I will mention this though, as it was a bit of a sad face, but then has a happy ending.
My Buttercream lip gloss was all sorts of wacked out. It was leaking and pushing gloss up and out and all over my stuff. In my purse, on my counter, in my makeup bag. It was bad. And I was super bummed. When I would go to open it up and use it, something was causing it to push up and it was ALL OVER the wand and I was losing more product than I was using. So I emailed Gerard Cosmetics…
Not only did they respond the SAME DAY, they totally shipped me a BRAND NEW gloss without any hesitation. I basically told them what I said above and asked what I could do about it, and the email came back saying to not even worry, a new one was on it’s way, no problem. THAT dear lovelies is the kind of customer service you want in a company you spend your hard earned money on. I was honest and kind and they helped me without hesitation. BRAVO to a great company! That made me so happy, so I wanted to share with you, that if you do choose to buy with Gerard Cosmetics that you won’t have to worry about shady business ventures and bad products. And with so many companies out there that get bad raps, Gerard Cosmetics is one you can trust.
A HUGE thanks to Jennifer for helping me out so quickly!
