Please tell me that you’ve heard of subscription boxes! Because if you haven’t, seriously, you’re missing out! The basic premise is that you pay a monthly fee and you receive a box full of goodies. It’s awesome, and there are boxes out there for everyone’s taste. I have a post about the beauty ones here. But I digress, this month’s Glossybox just showed up in my mailbox yesterday, and I decided to unbox it here for you. So let’s get to the March Glossybox Unboxing!
First and foremost, I LOVE Glossybox’s packaging. It makes me feel so special when I get that black box in the mail!
For real, right? I mean I am not even to the goodies yet, and I am already feeling like something special!
So this is the box, a baby pink thick cardboard box (that I keep and use for craft storage and projects!) – super cute on it’s own, but loaded with goodies it’s 1000% better. But that packaging though…. oh I am a sucker for sweet packaging.
It’s like a little it of Christmas in March. So let’s get down to brass tacks and see what I got this month.
5 products, 3 of which were full size, plus an extra sample of the face moisturizer. I am familiar with the So Susan Cosmetics line, and I’ve heard of OroGold, but the other’s were new to me. I like that I get to try new products and lines with Glossybox, because it amps up my makeup collection and a lot of times introduces me to fantastic lines I become a huge fan of.
So first out of the box was the So Susan Cosmetics Concealer Quad – FULL SIZE. It retails for $30.95, so right there it’s completely paid for the box plus some, with just one product! The brand So Susan is a really nice product, I own one of the blushes from another Glossybox a few months ago and it’s really nice too, so I have some good hopes for this product.
Next up is the Tree Hut Shea Body Butter in Coconut Lime. First impression is that this is a deliciously smelling, thick lotion. My full review of all the products in the box will come later. The full sized tub is 7 oz and retails for $7.49. This size is a deluxe sample size at 2 oz. so this sample is probably around $2 retail. Bringing our box total up to around $32.95 so far.
So being a hairstylist, I am always excited to try new hair stuff. So this Rich Hair Care Pure Luxury Intense Moisture Shampoo is right up my alley. I just put it into the shower this morning, so I will try it next time I wash my hair. I am interested to see what it does for me. This is the 2.7 oz full size and at $3.99 it brings our box total up to $36.94.
BellaPierre Cosmetics Cheek & Lip Stain in Pink! This one I am really excited to try. I am a huge fan of really natural and easy to use makeup that enhances my features without changing them too much. And I also love double duty products, so this lip AND cheek stain in a great one! It’s also a full sized product, and at $19.99, brings our box total up to $56.93! For a $21 investment. Amazing.
Ok so this product is sorta crazy. It’s the Orogold Cosmetics 24K Multi-Vitamin Day Moisturizer. It’s made with real 24K gold, and full size, it retails for $178! OMG. For real y’all!
Here is an up close pic of the Orogold 24K moisturizer so you can totally see the little flecks of gold in it! Ahh! I am so excited to use this and report back, because I have NEVER paid that much for face cream – but it looks amazingly creamy and hydrating! These little sample sizes are probably around .05 oz or so, so it would probably retail around $11, which brings the total cost of the entire box almost $68! That’s crazy!
Ok, so I will be trying all of these products and doing a review in about a week or 2 once I get the chance to really use them and form an opinion. Sound good?
Glossybox is $21/mo. for 5 luxury products.
