I don’t know if you’ve ever tried Dave’s Killer Bread, but it’s pretty much the most amazing, delicious bread ever. I am not even a huge bread eater, but seriously OMG, this bread is fantastic. I was asked to create my favorite sandwich using their amazing bread and being a long time fan, I jumped at the chance. If you’ve never tried it, I high suggest looking for it, because as I said before, amazing.
Being from California, the “California Club” has always been my favorite sandwich. Freshly sliced oven roasted peppered turkey, crisp meaty bacon, creamy ripe avocado and all the trimmings. Just the best. Really. What makes mine special is spicy mustard, rich crisp butter lettuce, and tart spicy pepperoncinis. It’s my go to for all my sandwich needs. At times I’ve been known to add a slice or two of buttery Havarti cheese.
The Ultimate Turkey, Bacon & Avocado Sandwich (makes 2)
- 10 slices high quality peppered turkey
- 1 small avocado
- 6 slices of crisp bacon
- 4 slices Havarti cheese
- 4 leaves of butter lettuce
- 4 slices of Dave’s Killer Good Seed Bread
- Brown Mustard
- Pepperoncinis, drained on a paper towel
Spread brown mustard on one side of the sandwich, and 1/2 an avocado on the other. Add Havarti and turkey on the mustard side, and bacon on the avocado side. Gently lay butter lettuce on top of bacon and place pepperoncinis on top. place sandwich together and enjoy with some kettle chips or veggie straws.
The addition of a great nutty, seed bread is just an extra benefit.
I first heard of Dave’s Killer Bread earlier this year. I read their story, and I knew I wanted to try it. It also had raves of reviews from my online friends and followers. “You have to try it!”, “It’s so good!”, “I love Dave’s!”. My favorite of their 12 varieties is their Good Seed bread. Not only is the bread packed with loads of protien, fiber and omgea-3’s, it’s Vegan and Non-GMO too! Just the good stuff. Have I mentioned that my kids LOVE the “seed bread”? And it’s fabulous with chocolate hazelnut butter on it (I recommend Justin’s brand).
My husband was always weary of the bread because he doesn’t like “nuts and berries” in his bread… but Dave listened and he answered back to the picky eaters with his 100% Whole Wheat bread that is now seedless! And it’s perfect for french toast, though I still love the Seeded Honey Wheat for that. It’s also a fantastic rustic option for your Thanksgiving table this year!
