It’s taken me quite a bit of time to write this review, because frankly, I wanted to give it a very detailed review and felt I really needed to use the product for a decent amount of time, before just diving in and saying “I like it.”. It was important to me to be honest about my feelings on this product, as much as just an overview of the product as well.
I received this product, and the first thing that came to mind was just how amazing it smelled. For real. My entire mailbox smelled amazing and I had NO IDEA why… sort of cinnamony and clovey and very much a “holiday” smell. Once I opened the package I got very excited and decided to use the hair mask that evening for the first time.
I will say that I absolutely love handmade beauty products because I feel like they come packaged with love and care and that’s much more important to me than fancy packaging or a marketing gimmick. At first glance, it’s very much a handmade item. It comes in a small plastic jar – but trust me, it’s packed full. I would estimate you can get at least 6-8 treatments from a jar if you have long hair like I do.
I got the treatment that is specifically for broken and damaged hair… I color mine quite a bit, and it’s always in a ponytail or bun, so breakage is something I’ve been fighting for years. The thing I loved most about the mask (besides the smell!) was how creamy and whipped it was… not at all what I expected. It was very easy to apply to my hair – I massaged from the scalp out, wanting to really work it into my ends. I didn’t need much, just a 3 fingered scoop, and it covered my hair. I let it sit while I handled some housework, and then rinsed and shampooed it out.
My hair did not feel greasy or slimy at all, it fact it felt very soft and nourished. It was easy to comb out – something I struggle with all the time – and left me with that yummy cinnamon smell all day long.
I love that it’s loaded with healthy stuff for your skin and hair – and it’s completely organic! It’s definitely something I would image you’d find at Whole Foods or other natural health stores. It would also make an AMAZING stocking stuffer or gift for a friend who lives a clean and organic lifestyle and has limited options when it comes to hair care.
