So the holidays are approaching, which means, lots of parties, and lots of dolling yourself up! So I’ve got 4 super easy hair styles for you to master before all the holiday fun! I know I am a hairstylist, so styling hair comes pretty easy to me, but I assure you that with a little bit of practice and the right tools, you can master these looks too!
To me, the holidays are all about glam, so I wanted to incorporate some really classic looks using beautiful bouncy waves, as well as some fun updated looks too! I used the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® to create all of these looks, as well as the Infiniti Pro by Conair® 3Q™ Brushless Motor Dryer for the blowout prep. You can find both of these products at Walmart. You will also need some bobby pins and a paddle brush. I recommend the Conair Velvet Paddle Brush, it’s just a great and affordable brush and it works well.
Start by towel drying your hair, and applying a leave in product to help keep your hair smooth. If you have curly or frizzy hair I would also recommend using a hair oil to help tame your frizzies, or even a straightening product. Apply these product wet and work in from ends to the roots. Using the Infiniti Pro by Conair® 3Q™ Brushless Motor Dryer, dry your hair to 90% dry. I really like this dryer as my home dryer. At the salon I have a very expensive blow dryer. I need something light and powerful that I can use all day. This blow dryer is very comparable to that dryer (though a bit heavier, it’s fine for daily use at home) and I even took it to the salon and tested it out on my clients to very similar results. Color me impressed by a store brand dryer. Once your hair is 90% dry, go ahead and start using your paddle brush to create a smooth and sleek blowout. Finish off with the cool shot to help seal in the smoothness and shine.
Now you’re ready to create all the looks in this post! Experiment with them, and find what you like best!
1. Vintage Waves
My favorite look is the Vintage Waves. It’s sleek, classic and very elegant. It’s perfect for an evening out, work or dinner party.
Depending on what side you part your hair, you will pick either left or right. This look as a medium deep part, and reminds me of Veronica Lake and her icon style. Choose your side, part and section into 2 side. One side will be much heavier, clip that aside. With the smaller section, section that into 3 parts. Everything from your ear forward will be pinned back. From the remaining hair, clip away the top section. This part will fall over your clipped section to hide the pins. It’s sort of confusing, so I took some pics to help you. Lightly tease the section in front of the ear, pull back, smooth and secure with bobby pins.
Now it’s time to curl it and get that beautiful vintage wave! This is actually the easiest part of the entire process… it’s just the most time consuming. I love the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® because it makes curling hair SO EASY! I can not even stress this enough. No burns, no wonky curls, no fish hooked ends. Just perfect curls every time! Check out this quick video of how it works on my Instagram!
How easy this is awesome hot tool?! The Infinity Pro By Conair Curl Secret makes creating perfect curls a snap by drawing the hair into the chamber and using tourmaline-ceramic technology, it helps smooth hair and reduce frizz! Using the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret®, curl your hair. Spritz a light hairspray over 1/2″ sections, and let them be drawn into the chamber. Let the series of beeps finish and release the curls. Repeat with entire head. Using a paddle brush, lightly brush out the curls and smooth and shape using your hands by twisting the hair into large curled sections. Spray and you’re done!
2. The Barbie Pony
For a fun night out with the girls, or an ugly Christmas Sweater Party, this bouncy Barbie Pony is a great style.
Curl the hair using the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret® and section into 2 sections. Clip the hair above your ears out of the way, and using a small rubber band create a small ponytail. With the hair you clipped away, tease sections for height and pin at the crown of your head to help create a bump.
Using the rest of your hair, smooth over your teased bump, gather the remaining hair, and the small pony you made, and pull it all into a pony. Secure with a large, strong rubber band and pull tight, creating volume and bounce. Finish it all off with a cute sparkly headband.
3. Voluminous Waves
This is the perfect date night look! Grab some hot cocoa and your honey and hit up some candy cane lanes to look at Christmas lights!
Curl your entire head with the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret®. Gather a small section to the top of your head, twist and push forward and secure with pins to create a small bump of volume. Tease the sections of hair along the crown for extra volume and softly brush out your curls for a full and voluminous “half up/half down” look.
4. Flirty Side Pony
This is a great look for a Gingerbread party, a Secret Santa Exchange, or going to meet Santa! Have you been naughty or nice?
Using the same technique as the voluminous waves, add an extra step by gathering all your hair to the side and securing with a large rubber band. Tighten to add more volume and spray to hold your hair in place!
