So I posted 2 weeks ago about doing a cleanse, and I got a ton of responses, questions and comments about it, how I liked it and what it was all about. I wanted to post this review to answer everyone’s questions. I had really great results with this cleanse, and if you’re looking for a good one, I hope you consider it and have similar results.
If you have anymore questions, make sure you leave me a message in the comments and I will answer you the best I can!
What is it?
The Heavenly Body Cleanse by Aster Elliot is a 6 day cleanse that helps to cleanse not only your body, but your mind and soul as well. It’s a full lifestyle cleanse.
So what is all in it?
The cleanse itself is really easy to do and follow. You get a room spray to cleanse the energy in your living spaces, a detoxing bath salt to soak in before the cleanse begins to help release trapped toxins and a very easy to follow 6 day meal plan. It comes with everything you will need, besides the fresh food you get for snacks, and lunch.
What did you have to do?
Every morning I had a shake for breakfast, some fruit and took my supplements. Lunch was a freshly prepared meal from a menu of “approved” items – VERY EASY – I got to have turkey, veggies, soup, avocado, wraps, salads…. it’s definitely not a starving cleanse. Dinner was another shake, with snacks between meals.
Will I be hungry?
Like I said above, it’s definitely NOT a starving cleanse, like many I’ve heard about. You are ALWAYS eating, in fact sometimes I forgot I got to have a snack simply because I wasn’t hungry. I felt full, despite the small meals and portions.
But, will I lose weight?
Technically, this cleanse is NOT a weight loss cleanse, but because of the nature of it, cutting out toxins, like gluten, caffeine, sugar and fatty, high calorie snacks, you probably will. I actually lost 12 lbs (but I was also swimming every morning and doing body wraps too)
Have you kept it off?
Yes! But I think the reason is, this cleanse pretty much just made me very aware of portion size and eating regularly. Before this I could go without breakfast, or lunch, and snack heavily (even if it was good stuff) in between. I realized that keeping your body fueled all day is better than having 3 big meals. Even if the calorie count is the same, it’s best to keep yourself constantly fueled. Even now I start to feel sluggish between meals if I don’t get some fruit, or a nut bar.
What do the shakes taste like?
It’s a very interesting flavor that I can compare most to a peanut flavor. The shakes are sort of bland, so I mixed them with Vanilla Almond milk and some stevia to improve the taste. They are raw and vegan, so it tastes very natural. You may like the taste of it alone, I preferred to doctor it up.
Would you do it again?
Definitely! It was very easy! Even on the last day, when I was SO EXCITED to eat “normal” food again, I was still motivated to finish my supplements and shakes off. In fact, the first meal I had was a portion of grilled chicken, some strawberries, 1/2 an avocado and LOTS of dark leafy greens with a bit of a light vinaigrette.
I haven’t even craved soda, or junk since. I know that the whole foods can taste fantastic and I don’t need to eat them to be satisfied. When I was on my road trip, even if we stopped places that were less than perfectly healthy, I made good choices (with a treat here or there) and was very good in terms of how road trip food goes.
As far as cleanses go, this one is very doable and did not give me any ill side effects like having to live in the bathroom all day, or sluggish tiredness.
