So I just finished a 6 day detoxifying cleanse. My full review is coming to the blog soon, but I thought I would just sit down tonight, and update everyone on my life lately.
So last week I started this cleanse. Being a blogger is awesome sometimes cuz I get to try a lot of cool stuff, usually gratis from the company. Sometimes you get in over your head and say yes to so many people and projects and then you’re super stressed. June was like that for me. I had so many great opportunities on my plate that I said yes to almost all of them. It’s what you do when you’re creating a blog and a brand. My plate raneth over.
So July I decided that I was just going to really take the jobs and opportunities to me that I was excited about. Stuff that I already use, or have wanted to try, and my blog life has become a bit easier for me. Plus, it’s summer! And we’re all over the map at the Blevins house.
This weekend I am headed up to San Jose for a family function, a memorial for my cousin who was killed in a car accident 2 weeks ago. (On a completely unrelated note, I found out the same day that I lost a good friend in Atlanta as well. Too much sadness and death in my life as of late.) Very sad, but we’re going to choose to remember him in only the way my family knows how, by sharing our stories and tears together, and eating lots of food. I am excited for the road trip, my mom is driving her camper and Abbey and I are hitching a ride (and leaving my husband at home) to tour the Northern California coast and turn an unfortunate circumstance into something to remember. Plus there will be LOTS of photos and hopefully, if I can find decent WiFi, updates too. We should be gone about 5 days.
So I had to start my cleanse before the trip – because there is no way I was going to be on the road traveling and drinking shakes and eating from a strict menu. It’s just not feasible for me. But the cleanse was really great and if nothing else taught me about portion control and serving sizes. Now, at the end of my cleanse I am 12lbs lighter – and while I cleansed the inside of my body from toxins, I did a organic, herbal wrap on the outside, and lost another 8 inches in my waist – which really jump started my whole fitness thing which I have been meaning to get around to anyway. Funny how that works.
I will be doing reviews on both of the products I used, the cleanse and the wraps, in future blog posts, so stay tuned.
Currently, my kids are fast asleep – but Audrey has been waking up a lot, coughing. She somehow turned a mild bronchitis into full fledged bronchial pneumonia. So as of today, she is on a steroid inhaler and an antibiotic. Poor kid. I spent the better part of last night hearing her cough in bed, after her dad went and got her for the week, I knew something was up and it wasn’t just “a little cough”. Call it mother’s intuition.
Aside from swim lessons, and a few trips to the splash park recently, not much else has been going on, and I am OK with that. My husbands new job, keeps him away from home more than not, so it’s a lot of play time, crafts, swimming and movies in the AC. My job has been keeping me busy at home and I am sure the mailman loves me. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for all the behind the scenes stuff I share!
