Today is Theodore Geisel’s birthday, better known as Dr. Seuss! He’s a fellow Pisces! No wonder he was so awesome 😉
I’ve been checking out Pinterest all week, for some cute and easy crafts you can do with your kids today (last minute Sunday fun!) with stuff you probably have laying around the house anyway.
I even have a very quick, kid friendly tutorial for you! Hooray!
The Lorax is my daughter’s favorite movie right now (besides Frozen, of course). She calls The Lorax “the little man”, which I think is adorable and she tells me how awesome his mustache is. Ha! What a (green eggs and) ham!
Truffala Tree Yarn Craft
You will need;
Various colors of yarn/twine
Cut down your cardstock to fit inside your frame. Remove the glass and save it for a different project, we aren’t going to use it.
1. Make some pom poms by wrapping yarn around your finger tips about 20-30 times. 2. Slip off your fingers and tie a piece of yarn around the center. 3. Cut all the exisiting loops. 4. Trim your yarn ball down into a pom pom. Do this for as many Truffala trees as you are planning to make.
Glue down some yarn “trunks”. Glue the pom poms on tops of the trunks. Add a bit of “grass” at the bottom. Finish with your favorite Lorax quote!
And as an added bonus here’s a Dr Seuss quote I hand lettered for the girls room!
Here are some other adorable crafts you can make too! Make sure you check them out and show those girls some love!
