A few months ago I was asked to participate in a Brand Challenge on Influenster for a Pond’s campaign. It involved a few social media tasks and I wasn’t sure if I had won or not, but just a couple weeks ago I received an email saying I had been a winner and would be getting some Pond’s Cleansing towels in the mail as a prize!
Let me say, that one of the bigger perks of being on social media and having a blog is all the fun stuff I get to do, and the free stuff I get to try. I mean, obviously I enjoy writing, and sharing with y’all. I’m not just in it for the free stuff, I promise…
But it’s nice.
I always have to disclose that I receive this stuff as a paid or complimentary sample for testing and review purposes. It’s part of the job description. And Influenster is really cool, because you don’t HAVE to have a blog, or a hardcore following to get stuff to try. It just helps.
Let me first start off by saying that I love the cleansing wipes because I am lazy at the end of the day and I’d rather just wipe my face and take my makeup off that way, instead of washing my face with water and making a huge mess right before I go to bed. Plus I can keep these by my bedside and literally clean my face right before I go to bed. I also love that the cloths themselves are textured and help scrub away and exfoliate all the dead skin and flaky bits from my face. My nose is the worst. This dry winter weather has made my poor little nose one dry, red little guy.
Bums me out to no end.
I found that these wipes great at removing makeup, especially stubborn black raccoon eyes. I wear a lot of liner and mascara. The wipes are tough enough to remove everything, but gentle enough to not make me eyes burn or sting, and it doesn’t leave me feeling greasy or oily, just clean and moisturized.
I have read from a few different blogs and reviews that other people have had problems with those aspects and they mentioned rinsing the towel before using it. I didn’t have those problems but it’s a good tip, if you are.
