But, as crazy as I am, I had an almost 100% DIY wedding. An almost impossible feat, and it happened. I don’t remember it happening, but I’m told it did.
I wanted to share it with all of you, because it was my wedding, HELLO! but also because if I could do it, you could totally do it too!
The first thing you’re going to do, when you plan a DIY wedding, is a theme. Forget a date, or forget a place for right now. When it’s DIY you need to figure out what you CAN do and what you CAN’T. If draping crystals and romantic candelabras aren’t something you can swing, than a giant ballroom probably won’t be the place for you. If burlap and lace screaming “you”, maybe a ranch or farm would suit you better. So decide on your theme and go from there.
We decided on a “Country Chic” theme. Some people took it to mean “Cowboy” but I cannot stress to you enough that IT WAS NOT COWBOY.
I knew that I wanted a very DIY sense, lots of vintagey touches, chalkboard, mason jars, pretty much the perfect Pinterest wedding.
Once I knew what my vision was going to look like, it was much easier to find a venue, caterer, dress… so on and so forth.
Instead of sitting here and typing everything out, let me just show you. Almost everything in the following pictures were either made by me, or by my close friends. Enjoy!
Now for some of the actual wedding photos!
So there you have it. My wedding…
